Nexium Generic Esomeprazole:
|
Brand : Nexium Generic
|
| Composition : ESOMEPRAZOLE |
| |
What Is Nexium ? |
|
Acid is required to digest food. But too much of acid can damage the esophagus, the tube that carries the food. So accumulating acid into the tube is called “acid reflux”. Over time, regular, continuous acid reflux can potentially harm to the delicate inside layer of your esophagus.
Nexium is for those, who – in spite of medication and diet change - have constant heartburn for more than 2 days a week. Nexium - Generic Esomeprazole decreases gastric acid secretion in gastric parietal cells. By slowing down the functioning of this enzyme, it also prevents formation of gastric acid. One Nexium pill provides 24-hour relief from frequent, persistent heartburn.
Nexium is also used to treat duodenal ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Nexium reduces the acid, relieves the pain of heartburn, and heal the possible damage caused by acid reflux.
Nexium may also be given to prevent gastric ulcer caused by infection with helicobacter pylori or by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Nexium may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
|
How Should I Take Nexium? |

Even if you feel better during the treatment, complete the program as prescribed by your doctor.

It has been researched that Nexium, if consumed by pregnant woman, is not expected to be harmful to an unborn child.
For children up to 17 years, Nexium is not for long-term treatment – 1 to 2 months - for the symptoms of acid reflux disease, such as heartburn, and the healing of damage may be caused over time by acid reflux. Nexium is once-a day treatment and is available as a capsule or oral suspension.
